French comedies usually start out funny and suddenly turn serious before the end

It was quite refreshing for a French comedy, although it is not the type I prefer. Not this. No one has a hidden side: Benoît is still clumsy and cowardly from start to finish.

The fake girlfriend has no social graces from start to finish. Only the parents are the same rich and confused couple that appears in most French comedies. They were the least interesting because their arc is completely predictable in this type of film.

Their future will be a regular Sunday night movie on French television

I’m glad I have an unlimited cinema pass, because cinema ticket prices have gone up so much that I wouldn’t have been happy to spend a lot of money on it.
